Forkift Experiments, by Plakookee, is their first photo book and is comprised of images created during their time as Artists in Residence at Community Forklift - a Hyattsville, Maryland based non-profit reuse center. The organization offers public education about re-use as well as distributing free supplies to local non-profits and neighbors in need.
During their residency, Plakookee set up a studio inside of the salvage warehouse where they created photographs and small installations using the materials available to highlight the creative use of salvaged materials.
In 2017, Plakookee released a limited edition set of prints which were sold to benefit Community Forklift’s public outreach programs and to help citizens in need throughout Maryland, DC and Virginia.
The release of Forkilft Experiments is the final phase of the the project and will be available for purchase at www.plakookee.com starting Dec. 1st.
