HELLO!

My name is Justin Plakas and I am an artist, designer and educator based in Maryland, USA. Throughout my career I have worked in different types of production and post-production.

I make videos and photos. Sometimes I perform. I make some prints and play with sound. I like to bounce around.

I have been a participant at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, a resident artist at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art in Omaha, Nebraska and visiting artist at Rochester Institute of Technology and The University of New Mexico.

I got my MFA from The Lamar Dodd School of Art at The University of Georgia and have taught at the college level in a lot of different capacities. I am an Assistant Professor at George Mason University in the School of Art and Film and Video Studies.

My work has been exhibited and screened at galleries, museums and festivals across the US and internationally.
